Crucial to its workforce development strategy, Mazak North America credits veterans as essential to the company’s ability to overcome the manufacturing industry’s severe lack of skilled labor and fill vital positions. This year alone, Mazak has hired 13 veterans and now employs a total of 87 within Mazak departments ranging from field service and parts to production and purchasing.

Mazak took its Kentucky-built VC-Ez 26 Vertical Machining Center to the next level of advanced manufacturing technology at IMTS 2022. Mazak unveiled its new VC-Ez 16X Vertical Machining Center and MAZATROL SmoothEz5 CNC, the latest additions to the cost-effective, compact Ez Series at IMTS 2022. The new CNC enables the Kentucky-built VC-Ez 16X to process small complex parts via 3+2 or full 5-axis machining. The machine combines a rugged spindle and space-saving design with a full range of options to meet many production needs.
Mazak demonstrated the combined benefits of HYBRID Multi-Tasking and Hot Wire Deposition (HWD) part processing with the VC-500A/5X AM HWD at IMTS 2022. With capabilities beyond subtractive Multi-Tasking, the VC-500A/5X AM HWD reduces lead times and part costs, increases machining accuracy and part quality and provides even higher levels of productivity, flexibility and profitability.
At IMTS 2022, attendees saw how the compact design of the Mazak VC-500C/2PC Vertical Machining Center can increase production capabilities for small to medium part machining in a variety of industries. Shops can maintain continuous uninterrupted production via the 3-axis machine's inline two-pallet changer, with a rotary table mounted on one pallet and multiple vices on the second pallet to maximize spindle utilization.

In Booth 338300 at IMTS 2022, Mazak showcased the full simultaneous 5-axis VARIAXIS i-700 NEO/2PC Multi-Tasking Vertical Machining Center with integrated 2-pallet changer that provides additional DONE IN ONE® part-processing versatility.
