APPLICATIONS ENGINEER: FLORENCE, KY

Mazak Corporation is searching for an Applications Engineer to work in the National Applications Department at the Florence, Kentucky Headquarters. This is a trainee position that reports to the National Applications Engineering Manager with working hours of Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Applications Engineer Essential job functions include:

  • Review and evaluate customer workpieces and manufacturing requirements as they relate to Mazak equipment.
  • Create and prove out CNC programs using CAD/CAM software, EIA/ISO G-code and Mazatrol programming languages.
  • Select tooling and workholding for customer workpieces.
  • Provide technical support to sales in showcasing Mazak products to new and existing customers, plus Mazak personnel.
  • Work face-to-face with customers and internal Mazak personnel.
  • Demonstrate to customers machine capabilities through test cuts.
  • Educate customers and Mazak personnel on various CNC control features while highlighting added value.
  • Test new control functions, machine designs and processes along with the ability to use various Microsoft products to create clear and accurate reports and/or documentation.

Applications Engineer Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent with a certificate in mechanical, manufacturing or related field.
  • Must be mechanically inclined and enjoy working on machinery and equipment.
  • Intermediate CAD / CAM and EIA / ISO (2 - 5 axis) programming skills with willingness to learn.
  • Practical part processing knowledge and machine tool experience.
  • Experience with operating turning and machining centers / metal cutting equipment is a plus.
  • Must be personable with a positive attitude to listen, reassure and ultimately help customer.
  • Must be sales oriented.
  • Strong communication and verbal skills including ability to make and write a clear and concise report with recommended action plan.
  • Willing to travel with the ability to be flexible and adapt to projects and priority changes.

Field Service Technician-Chicago, IL

Field Service Technician-Chicago, IL

Mazak is seeking a Field Service Technician for the Midwest region, working in the Chicago, IL area. The Service Technician installs and repairs machines and accessories at Customer’s sites and provides technical information on operation or repair of machines and accessories.

Field Service Technician Essential Functions:

  • Install machines and accessories at Customer’s site. Installation includes all necessary assembly, leveling, aligning, adjusting, calibrating and wiring of machines and accessories.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and software problems on machines and accessories at Customer’s site.
  • Test operation of machines and accessories after completing installation or repair. Train Customers on functions of the machines.
  • Learn new machine’s features and accessories as they become available.
  • Complete reports documenting installation, assessment of reported problem, repairs completed, parts installed.

Field Service Technician Requirements:

  • Read/understand engineering drawings
  • Ability to work on own or in group while completing necessary tasks.
  • Ability to understand PLC
  • HYD/Pneumatic circuits
  • General Computer Skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a repetitive daily basis with heavier lifting on a periodic basis.
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Travel-both domestic and international
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2 year technical training in electronics, mechanical or machine tool assembly
  • 1-3 Years of experience in Field Service is preferred
