New Mazak INTEGREX e-800H II Processes Extra-Large Parts in Single Setups

Perfect for industries that include aerospace, construction machinery and energy, the new Mazak INTEGREX e-800H is the company’s biggest Multi-Tasking machine for extra-large part production. The company, through presentations and multi-media displays, recently discussed how the machine productively performs all cutting operations – turning, milling, boring, drilling and more – in a single machine setup, or what the company refers to as DONE IN ONE® processing.

The INTEGREX e-800H’s powerful turning spindle has a top speed of 700 rpm, maximum motor output of 60 hp (45 kw) and torque of 10,104 ft-lbs. (13,700 N m) for effective heavy-duty machining. A drop-worm system with the same positioning accuracy as a machining center rotary table drives the C-axis that indexes in 0.0001-degree increments.

The machine also features a high-performance 50-taper, 10,000-rpm milling spindle with a maximum motor output of 50 hp (37 kW) and B-axis rotation of 240-degrees. A heavy-duty roller gear cam makes up the framework of the machine's B-axis that provides milling spindle indexing or contouring and maximum tool point agility.

Overall, these turning and milling spindle specifications give the machine the necessary power, torque and accuracy to achieve unbeatable metal removal capabilities when creating challenging parts such as those used in aircraft landing gear and ship crankshafts.

A standard 40-tool magazine for storage and retrieval of turning, milling, drilling and tapping tools further supports the machine’s Multi-Tasking processes, while its fast automatic tool changer helps reduce non-cut times. Optional 80 and 120-tool magazines are available for manufacturers with higher machining requirements.

Other available options that further increase the machine’s versatility and productivity include a long boring bar system with a maximum tool length of 60” (1,525 mm), a long drill holder that drills up to 31” (800 mm) and a long milling tool that can reach a maximum length of 49” (1,244 mm) and perform right-angled milling inside a bore.

The INTEGREX e-800H has a swing capacity of up to 51” (1300 mm), Y-axis stroke of 31.5” (800 mm), bed lengths ranging from 160” (4,064 mm) to 320” (8,128 mm) and a workpiece load capacity of up to 15 tons, including workholding weight. Steady rests are available to support workpiece diameters up to 31.5” (800 mm).

Mazak’s exclusive MX Hybrid Roller Guide System on the INTEGREX e-800H delivers levels of durability and reliability that result in long-term accuracy. The innovative way system increases vibration dampening, extends tool life, handles higher load capacities and eliminates tramp oil in the coolant by utilizing a greener grease-based lubrication system.

Additionally, the INTEGREX e-800H features another Mazak exclusive called SMOOTH TECHNOLOGY. This technology provides substantial productivity improvements through its ease of use, adaptability and far-reaching functionality in terms of enhanced machine performance. Easier programming, extensive simulation capabilities, optimization of tool paths, economized machine movement and overall faster cycle times are just a few of SMOOTH TECHNOLOGY’s numerous benefits.

Today, Mazak is a world leader in advanced Multi-Tasking technology, with more than 90 machine tool configurations from which to choose. To learn more, please visit MazakUSA.com/machines/process/multi-tasking.
