WHAT TO EXPECT

Join Mazak Canada for a two-day education event centered on all things automation at its Cambridge, Ontario-based Technology Centre. Sponsored by SME and the Canadian Machining & Tooling Association (CTMA), the event will feature seven machines under power and paired with outstanding automation solutions. Attendees will be able to learn on the shop floor instead of the classroom, discovering exactly how to apply these advanced technologies to their own small to medium-sized shops.

Experience machines like the VARIAXIS i-300 AWC, a highly versatile full, simultaneous five-axis vertical machining center equipped with an auto work changer, a compact, palletized automation solution. The event will also include a live demonstration of the QUICK TURN 250MSY with GL100, a CNC turning center with Multi-Tasking capabilities that delivers true DONE IN ONE® part-production capabilities, particularly when paired with an exceptional gantry loader solution. In addition, the QT-250 CNC and VCN-530C will appear with third-party collaborative robots, while the VC-500A/5XHQR-250MSY and INTEGREX i-200ST will be on hand to demonstrate how Multi-Tasking brings automation inside the machine tool itself.

The Canada Technology Centre will play host to several of Mazak’s Value Inspired Partners, including Renishaw, which will present seminars on its Equator™ 500 gauging machine and its Reporter system for in-machine probing cycles. FANUC and JMP Engineering will demonstrate the differences between collaborative and fenceless robots, while Mazak automation specialists will cover topics like automation ROI, pallet-based automation and the company’s GR100 Gantry Robot.

Here’s what you’ll see and learn at our Discover Automation With Mazak event:

  • The Dollars and Cents of Automation: Dispel common myths about automation and learn how to implement it for the best ROI for your business model. See case studies of low, medium and high-volume applications.
  • Collaborative and Fenceless Robots: What are these technologies and how do they differ? FANUC and JMP Engineering show you how to use them. You’ll see a live demonstration with a FANUC collaborative robot and a RoboJob fenceless robot system.
  • Flexible/Low-volume automation featuring Mazak’s GR100 robot: The Mazak GR100 Gantry Robot adds built-in machine tending for small or large batch sizes.
  • In-Process Inspection for Automated Production Operations: See a demonstration of Renishaw in-machine probing cycles, along with the Reporter system that gives you a real-time view of pass/fail measurement data directly on the machine control.
  • Meet the Mazak VARIAXIS i-300 AWC: This compact machine stores up to 40 workpieces for fully automated machining of countless combinations through its Automated Work Changer (AWC).
  • Meet the Renishaw Equator™ 500: A large-size, flexible comparative measuring system for process control on the shop floor from Renishaw, a Mazak Value Inspired Partner. Additionally, see a demonstration of how Renishaw’s IPC (intelligent process control) software sends offsets directly to the Mazak machine tool.
