Mazak’s new INTEGREX e-1600V/10S Multi-Tasking machine garners much attention. The machine’s innovative design fuses together the capabilities of a full simultaneous 5-axis machine with those of a vertical turning center.
The INTEGREX e-1600V/10S reduces setups, increases complex part-processing versatility and boosts overall throughput. It also joins Mazak’s Four Quadrant Machine Selection Guide that helps manufacturers identify – for their particular part application – the most relevant and cost-effective 5-axis or Multi-Tasking Mazak machine configuration.
Mazak equips the INTEGREX e-1600V/10S with the new MAZATROL SmoothX CNC that is a key element – along with new machine hardware and servo systems – of Mazak’s SMOOTH TECHNOLOGY. As a dramatic evolution in the advancement of machine tools, SMOOTH TECHNOLOGY is a complete process-performance platform that spans the entire part-production landscape from programming and setup to metal removal operations and automation to monitoring and data collection/transfer.
For 5-axis part processing, the INTEGREX e-1600V/10S sports a 300-rpm, 54-hp direct-drive C-axis turning table and 10,000-rpm, 50-hp milling spindle with B-axis tilt of -30/+120 degrees. This advanced multi-tasking functionality together with a maximum workpiece capacity of 90.5" in diameter and 63" high allows the machine to easily handle larger complex aluminum, steel and high-temperature alloy components often found in the oil, energy and jet engine industry sectors.
Standard tool magazine capacity of the INTEGREX e-1600V/10S is 42 tools with the option for 84, 120 or 160-tool versions available. Mazak also situated the automatic tool changer (ATC) on the machine’s right side. This helps save space and positions the ATC closer to the machine’s spindle to make tool changes faster.
