Mazak Optimum Plus Program Offers Comprehensive Support to Customers

Florence, Kentucky, August 12, 2010 – Mazak has introduced Mazak Optimum Plus, a comprehensive program designed to provide customers with a strong competitive advantage. The program brings together and refines previously independent service and support functions to achieve greater effectiveness in meeting customers’ needs.

“At Mazak, we believe that when a customer purchases a machine, it is our responsibility to provide the support that ensures they receive the maximum return on their investment,” says Brian Papke, president of Mazak. “Mazak Optimum Plus encompasses many services we’ve developed over the years and upgrades them as it establishes a clear plan for continual improvement in how we support our customers’ operations. The Optimum Plus program raises the bar for Mazak customer services.”

Mazak Optimum Plus can be broken down into five pillars that define the program.

Single-Source Service. Customers are provided with a single point of contact for all issues related to Mazak machines, controls, accessories and PALLETECH systems. This is achieved through a network of 250 Mazak factory-trained direct-service representatives and certified distributor personnel. The large service organization ensures service is located in close proximity to customers for a consistent synergy throughout North America.

Machine & MAZATROL Warranty. All machines include a complete parts & labor warranty on all components, including a 2-year parts warranty on control components. No charge technical support and software updates are provided for the life of every machine. In normal circumstances, 24-hour response is included, and one-hour phone response to technical questions is guaranteed.

Parts Support. $60 million of inventory, containing over 43,000 unique part numbers, ensures that Mazak achieves 97% same-day shipping on parts orders. This program of parts support is included for the life of every CNC machine ever manufactured in the United States or imported into the United States. An additional $20 million in parts for Kentucky produced machines is available from the Kentucky production facility.

Progressive Learning. Each new machine includes three years of no-charge programming training. Additionally, an incredibly diverse array of no-charge classes and seminars are offered online, on-site and through Mazak’s extensive network of Regional Technology Centers.

Beginning with online training in partnership with ToolingU, a complete Pyramid of Learning is available with basic courses on line, all the way up to Advanced courses in hands on Multitasking, improved utilization concepts on Mazak PALLETECH Systems, and even Multitasking User Groups.

Documentation. Customers are provided with comprehensive digital manuals for Mazak machines and detailed technical information can be accessed via the machine control.
